چکیده

The low-cost feedstocks such as sesame (sesamum indicum) and jatropha (jatropha curcas) seed oils were utilized to optimize the yield of alkyd resins. experimentally selected input factors ranges in molar ratios oil:glycerol (0.3 – 1), phythalic anhydride: glycerol (1 3), catalyst (0.5–1.5 wt. %) for optimization established using response surface methodology (RSM) Box Behken model improve resin factors. solution utilizing CaCO3 catalysts, a combination other process evaluated, well corresponding desirability functions, was found analysis variance (ANOVA) results refined (RSAR) (RJAR). RSAR concentration 1.5 % at (1.0:1.0) anhydride:glycerol (3.0:1.0), while RJAR similar %, ratio (1.0:1.0), anhydride:glycrol (2.8:1.0) observed two processes. At these reaction conditions, predicted experimental biodiesel 48.26 47.29 62.07 61.61 RJAR, respectively which shows less than 0.5% variations both cases.

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ENZYMATIC TRANSESTERIFICATION OF Jatropha OIL USING LIPASE FROM Jatropha curcas and Jatropha gossipyfolia

Biodiesel consists of monoalkyl esters of long chain fatty acids. It is produced from vegetable oils or fats either by chemical transesterification with methanol or ethanol. The cost of lipases and the relatively slower reaction rate remain as the major obstacles for enzymatic production of biodiesel as opposed to the conventional chemical processes. The enzymatic process offers several advanta...

Synthesis of biodiesel from Jatropha curcas L. seed oil using artificial zeolites loaded with CH3COOK as a heterogeneous catalyst

An environmentally benign process was developed for the transesterification of Jatropha curcas L. seed oil with methanol using artificial zeolites loaded with potassium acetate as a heterogeneous catalyst. After calcination for 5 h at 823 K, the catalyst loaded with 47 wt.% CH3COOK exhibited the highest efficiency and best catalytic activity. The easily prepared catalysts were characterized by ...

Detoxification experiments with the seed oil from Jatropha curcas L

Due to its large number of potential utilizations Jatropha curcas L. (physic nut, purging nut), a tropical plant cultivated in many Latin American, Asian and African countries, has become topic of various research projects. Nutritional as well as technical applications, however, are restricted due to the plant’s toxicity. The seed oil contains phorbol esters, a family of compounds known to caus...

Optimization of transesterification of Jatropha curcas Oil to Biodiesel using Response Surface Methodology and its Adulteration with Kerosene

Biodiesel has emerged as an alternative to non-renewable diesel fuel. Growing demand for biodiesel has given birth to mal practices such as adulteration which degrade its quality. The present study has dealt with the optimization of biodiesel production from Jatropha curcas oil using a five-level-four-factorial central composite design based on response surface methodology in 54 experimental ru...
